How to fill a shift

Modified on Wed, 27 Nov at 12:49 PM

Any open shifts will appear in the Fill Shifts page for shift captains to start placing members in open shifts.

Filling a Shift

The process to fill a shift is simple: select the checkbox of the required shift, set the correct time interval based on the scenario preferences or the department rules, and click Fill Shifts. The screen will change to the shift filling page which shows the shift(s) being filled at the top of the page and at the bottom will be the members which have been, and are being offered the shift. If a member has not been offered a shift for whichever reason (already on shift, off sick) they will populate in the bottom table. More than one shift can be filled at a time by selecting one or more shifts and clicking the Fill Shifts button, and these shifts can be tracked in the table at the top of the page.

Stopping the Timer

If the timer needs to be stopped click it once and it will turn from green to red to show the timer has been stopped. Click once more to resume filling.

Time Intervals

This is where the time the system will take between offering the shift to the following member in the list will be set. If members are allowed 10 minutes to accept or decline a shift, select the appropriate time interval button. If a custom time is required, this can be set with the dropdown. The Notifications toggle is used based on department preferences.

Batch Numbers

Once a shift fill has started, it will be assigned a batch number. This means that if the shift commander leaves the page of the shift they were filling, the process can be resumed by selecting the correct shift with the assigned batch number and resetting the time interval. It is important to note that a time interval must be set when re-starting a batch.
